Last week Andrew and I took off for the Gorge Amphitheater with an amazing group of friends on our way to Paradiso, an EDM festival at one of the most beautiful venues in the PNW. It’s hard to even to begin to describe the weekend in words, so for this post, I’ll let the pictures do the talking!
We took off from Portland at 4:00 with our amazing high school friend, Britta, and two new friends Barrett and CJ. After some fancy maneuvering to get all five of us and our gear into the Jeep we were off. It was a beautiful 5 hour drive Northeast to Quincy, WA home of the Gorge Amphitheater. We arrived at 10:00PM and had a lovely 6 hour wait in line to get into the campgrounds. I have yet to figure out why the line took so long, but at 4:00AM Andrew and I got settled into our tent and tried to get some sleep before the amazing weekend ahead.
. After three solid hours of sleep we woke up for Day 1 of Paradiso! The gates didn’t open until 3:00 so we headed over the where Britta was camping and met up with a group of amazing people!
Day 1: Of Paradiso was amazing. The view at the top of the hill when we got to the Main Stage was breathtaking! Some of the first day standouts included: Flux Pavilion (my personal favorite), Above & Beyond, and Bass Nectar. After Day 1 we had back to the campsite and crashed!
Day 2: We woke up even earlier this morning, holy cow Eastern Washington gets hot in the morning! We slowly got ready and headed back to meet up with the rest of the group. Day 2 featured more phenomenal artists: Dirty Phonics, ZEDD, Krewella, and Excision. At the end of the second day Andrew and I took of a bit early and rode the ferris wheel. I did not realize I was such a chicken when it comes to any sort of ride, even the ferris wheel was frightening!
Most of our campground was up the entire night, so the next morning we slept in and got a late start headed back. On our way home we stopped for some real food in Yakima at an adorable little cafe, the White House Cafe. I got the cutest sandwich and salad I have ever eaten! It also gave us one last chance to catch up with the amazing friends we met this weekend. Now before I go on to our next festival adventure, Oregon Country Fair, I’ll leave you with a recap video Andrew and I made it into. Keep an eye on the end!
